The Annual Picnic at Hanging Rock : Display criteria

The event is primarily for the display of vintage, veteran, classic, modified and restored vehicles including cars, trucks and motorcycles along with  Rods.

Also welcome in the display areas are motoring clubs where their marque or models include the above but may also include more modern or contemporary variants - for example the GT or Monaro clubs or the Mini or Mustang clubs.

We recognise that there are many other unique and highly sought after examples of vehicles in the modern era, however this event is primarily for the older motoring classics.

It should also be noted by all particiants that this day is a non-competative day - and that whilst there are a number of trophies allocated, the criteria is not 'best concourse' vehicle.

The Club

The Macedon Ranges and District Motor Club has run this event since inception some 22 years ago.

What started out as a small 'club event' has now become one of the largest single day motoring events in Victoria and attracts more than two thousand display entrants and many many more spectators.

Whilst a number of community groups and commercial organisations are involved on the day providing services, all of the key roles including traffic, parking, and administration are undertaken by Club Members as part of their personal commitment  to the club and their enthusiasm to put on a great show for fellow motoring enthusiasts.

Should you be interested in learning more about the club, or perhaps becoming a member, follow this link to the club's website or contact one of our members at the Administration tent or anywhere across the grounds.

Thank you for your support for 'The Picnic' and we hope you enjoy our motoring heritage.
