The Shannons Super Rig is scheduled to make an appearance for the first time at the 23rd Picnic at Hanging Rock on Sunday February 14th , 2010.
The 21 metre long multi-purpose Shannons truck has travelled Australia wide, dazzling car lovers at more than 60 motoring events. From its first event, held in Alice Springs for the Shannons Spectacular, the Rig was off to a remarkable start with 2452 people visiting the truck. The purpose-built semi-trailer was specially made for Australia’s leading insurer for motoring enthusiasts.
Comprising an impressive 21-metre long truck and trailer unit, the Super Rig unfolds into an eight metre by eight metre state-of-the-art hospitality, entertainment and information centre. The Rig has a roof-top deck, barbecue facilities and plasma screens, making it prime position for viewing some of the fabulous motoring events. And for those who are impressed by the latest technology, there are state-of-the-art driving simulators and gaming consoles on board.
Shannons supports more than 600 motoring events each year with the Rig making an appearance at many of the top events. More than 3000 people visited the Rig at Top Gear live in Sydney in February and 3500 people were at SummerNats in Canberra in January.
