The Annual Picnic At Hanging Rock - A Classic Vehicle Show not to be missed

The Picnic at Hanging Rock is run by the Macedon Ranges and District Motor Club inc as an Annual event on the second Sunday in February.

The Picnic started out as a very small gathering to allow club members and their friends an opportunity to get together to enjoy each other's company and their motoring interests over a picnic lunch.

Today, the event is open to all enthusiasts and the range and number of vehicles on display has made the Picnic the largest single day event in Victoria's motoring calendar, and one of the biggest across the nation.

The club aims to maintain a family friendly focus for the day by providing a wide range of entertainment opportunities for children as well as a range of displays and of course the extensive collection of vehicles for the adults.

This site has been developed to answer all your questions about the event, and to make available a photographic record of the past events for your enjoyment.

Macedon Ranges Shire Council has made the decision that it will not operate any services or open any facilities in the three high-risk areas of Woodend, Mount Macedon and Macedon from 12 midnight to 12 midnight on Code Red days (24 hours).

This includes services operated in council buildings/facilities by Council, Committees of Management or other parties, e.g. Woodend Hub, neighbourhood house, the library and community centre, as well as recreation reserves and sports facilities in Macedon, Mt Macedon and Woodend, including Buffalo Stadium, the Woodend Pool and Hanging Rock Reserve.

In the event of a Code Red day for the local region, the Picnic at Hanging Rock event will be cancelled.  Due to the logistics of staging the event it will not be rescheduled for the current year.
